Classic Yoga

With Marija

Saturday 10:30

This class is held in Lithuanian.

We can connect with a higher state of consciousness through thecalm mind.

All those interested in traditional yoga principles, philosophy, and deeper spiritual practice are welcome.

Asanas will not be the sole focus in this practice. The main emphasis is on the exploration of the inner world, using various classic yoga techniques. Here, breathing, posture, and meditation function integratively, each part complementing the other. Being in an asana strengthens pranayama, and vice versa - being in pranayama opens up the asana even more deeply.

The lesson structure will consistently maintain these elements:

Pranayama - yoga breathing techniques | 20 min

Asanas - body positions | 40 min

Savasana - final relaxation | 10 min

Dhyana - meditation | 15 min

We will begin the practice with pranayama - subtle yoga breathing techniques will delicately make us feel the energy. The practice of asanas will unfold it on a broader scale into body positions. Asanas are practiced with clean, minimalist movements combined with classical vinyasa. The dynamic interplay between a stable position in the asana and transitional movements - vinyasas - is felt. In the end, we will journey towards the essence - meditation.

Let's meet to experience inner silence and peace within ourselves. Let's meet to dive deeper, beyond asanas, beyond breathing, beyond techniques. Let's meet ourselves.

I am interested not in objects but specifically in the spaces between them.

What is between inhalation and exhalation? What is between one yoga pose and another?

Space. It opens up within our body, in our breath, in our minds, and much deeper.

What can happen when no object binds me, and I feel complete? It's the freedom flowing within us.

Respect for the yoga tradition and a constant search for how to integrate it into today's context. That is my main task.

I advocate for a healthy balance and sustainable movement in the long run. And it consists of consistent steps, understanding our physical body, and the ability to listen to it.

Coming from the field of architecture, yoga practice for me is about creating internal spaces. I have experienced office life, creative work, so I know well what a burnt-out mind and body needs. In practice, I pay a lot of attention to safety and detail. I want everyone who comes to practice to continue their movement journey smoothly.

Let's search for the harmony of internal composition together, so that tranquility and elevation can unfold. It's a great opportunity to share this harmony not only with oneself during practice but also in the flow of everyday life with others.
